im 16 an i know exactly how you feel, life is so hard for those of us with ADD & ADHD. I myself think i have an undiagonosed case i know i have it though because i see myself in all these videos, the trying 3 times as hard and things like that. and theres almost no one to talk to because people dont beleve you or they say your making up excuses and the real reason is that your lazy or not trying hard enough, its depressing

Same here, I’m 23 and I’m stuck, no money, no insurance,so I can’t see a doctor. ADD is hell, It can make life not worth living, to the point where getting up in the morning is ridiculusly hard. For me it has lead to anxiety and depression. Socializing is also a big problem and getting progressivley worse due to the fact that I felt like an outcast to pretty much any group, I find i hard to express how I feel, but I have to admit, It’s got to the point whe I feel completely useless and alone.

Thank you for posting this video. Six years ago i was diagnosed with major depression, anxiety/panic disorder, insomnia. Further, i do have all the symptoms of ADD and or bipolar II. Is it possible i could have all these disorders? Fyi, i am doing much better now a days, as far as my depression and anxiety are concerned. However, Insomnia, symptoms of ADD/Bipolar II are still present. i.e. racing thought, poor concentration, inability to do my task/read/etc…. What do you make of my insanity?

Hi Nurse613,
I’m glad the video was so helpful to you. I can’t comment on the effectiveness of Dexadrine for you personally, because side effects and benefits vary from person to person.

wow! great video! My doctor just told me he thinks I have Adult ADD. My mouth dropped, part of me thought, no not me. But then that disbelief quickly disappeared, because it made alot of sense. I did a little research, and then came to Youtube, watched your video and now the last 20 years or so of my life make sense. I am waiting to start on Dexadrine, if my insurance covers it. What’s your opinion of that medication? does it work well?

I have the anxiety/depression, social awkwardness with ADD. It has a lot to do with having my desk separated from all the kids from kindergarten through 5th and being told I’m a bad kid when I didn’t even know what was going on. Especially the little time out room with nothing but a desk, chair, and a light in it they would leave me in all day, almost daily, in seclusion, being ignored and outcasted through out elementary.Isn’t that child abuse? I’m experiencing a lot of the anger in finding out.

I have generalized anxiety disorder. is it possible that I have ADHD? my doctor never tested me for that. I always have to keep my hands busy and my legs moving.

It really depends on the person and the medication they are taking.

thank you! I have just been diagnosed with ADD and I also have anxiety AND depression. I didn’t know that they were so closely linked. I’m going to go on medication soon, and i was wondering, how does ADD medication affect depression and anxiety?

I fully understand about a grieving process – I experienced something approaching normality for the first time on Atomoxetine (it was short-lived & my anxiety went sky-high). It wasn’t just grief but anger as well – I realized that I had spent 47 yrs busting my balls to do stuff that was so easy with the right brain chemistry – all the time thinking that I was just weak.
